Second graders study and write fairy tales. We've been discussing the elements of fairy tales, reading fairy tales, and planning out our own stories. Today kids shared one of their character studies with the class.

Indoor Recess
On rainy, cold days kids stay inside and do lots of different things. Legos, puzzles, reading, writing, origami, and art projects are just a few fun choices kids make.

Opening Day!
We had a great opening day today in honor of the Red Sox and baseball. Kids did lots of fun activities in the morning and then had hot dogs and soft pretzels for lunch. After lunch they got to try and hit a homerun in the gym!

Read, Read, Read!
On Monday mornings kids finish work from last week, then practice their new spelling words, and then they can read or write. The bean bag is always a favorite place to enjoy a good story!

Getting There!
About this time in second grade kids are learning to correct much of their own work. This morning Aiden rewrote his name after he realized it was messy. This is a big step in our revision process!
